OVERVIEW

On the “12 day Tanzania & Uganda wildlife-Gorillas & chimpanzees” you will visit Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro National Park, Serengeti national park for the great wildebeest migration, Kibale National Park for Chimpanzee tracking, Queen Elizabeth national park and Bwindi National park for gorilla trekking.

 DETALED ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. A packed lunch will be provided. The park, though small, is scenic, covering 330 sq km, with up to 200 sq km being the lake when water levels are high. It’s a great spot for bird watching and home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, warthogs, buffaloes, and possibly tree-climbing lions. Afterward, you will be taken to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Ngorongoro National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing. A packed lunch will be provided. Known as “Africa’s Eden,” this park is densely populated with around 30,000 animals. Large herds of zebras and wildebeests graze while lions rest nearby. In the morning mist, endangered black rhinos return to the crater’s forests. The Maasai live alongside the wildlife here. You will be taken to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park, with game viewing along the way. Serengeti spans over 6,000 square miles of unspoiled landscape. The wildlife viewing begins as soon as you enter the park. Expect to see leopards, lions, and migratory animals like zebras and wildebeests. Afterward, you will be taken to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Great Migration at Mara River

You will wake up early for a game drive in Central Serengeti, searching for predators. After breakfast, a packed lunch will be provided as you drive toward North Serengeti. From late July to mid-October, the Great Migration occurs here, with zebras and wildebeests crossing the Mara River. Crocodiles often attack them during the crossing. North Serengeti also offers sightings of big cats, elephants, giraffes, and black rhinos. Afterward, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Full Day at Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to the Lobo area for a game drive. Lobo, located in the Northeast of Serengeti, offers unique landscapes. You will have a high chance of spotting leopards, cheetahs, lions, and clip-springer antelopes. In the late afternoon, you will continue to Central Serengeti. Afterward, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport – Arrival in Entebbe

After breakfast, you may shop at the market before being transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight to Entebbe. Upon arrival, you will be picked up by our guide and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, driving south via Hoima. Along the way, enjoy the scenic tea plantations in Fort Portal. You will stop in Fort Portal for lunch, then continue to the lodge. In the afternoon, you will go for a nature walk in the Bigodi Swamp eco-tourism site, where you may encounter beautiful flora and fauna, including bird species like the Great Blue Turaco and Rwenzori Turaco. Afterward, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Tracking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee tracking briefing. Kibale Forest is home to around 5,000 chimpanzees, as well as 12 other primate species. The trek may take 1 to 4 hours, depending on the chimpanzee location. Afterward, you will return to the lodge for lunch, then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the way, enjoy views of Mt. Rwenzori. You will arrive at the lodge in the afternoon and relax. Dinner and an overnight stay will be provided at the lodge.

Day 9: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise along the Kazinga Channel

After an early breakfast, you will go on a morning game drive in the Kasenyi sector of the park. Look out for lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, and other wildlife. After lunch at the lodge, you will embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Expect to see many birds, hippos, crocodiles, and swimming elephants.

Day 10: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha

After breakfast, you will transfer to Ishasha sector, in search of tree-climbing lions. You will continue to Bwindi National Park, passing through the scenic Kigezi Highlands with terraced hillsides. Afterward, you will arrive at the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 11: Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Bwindi is famous for its mountain gorillas, and trekking may take 1 to 4 hours depending on their location. After locating them, you will spend an hour observing them. The ranger will provide guidance on proper behavior. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch. In the evening, you will visit a nearby village for a cultural walk to interact with the locals and enjoy traditional performances. You will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 12: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast, you will depart for Kampala/Entebbe. You will have lunch en route and an opportunity to take photos at the Equator.
