This 3-Day Akagera national park wildlife tour in Rwanda is a safari that will take you to Akagera National Park, in eastern Rwanda, along the Tanzanian border. It was founded in 1934 to protect animals and vegetation in three eco regions including savannah, mountain and swamp. In this Rwanda wildlife safari tour you will experience game drives for wildlife viewing and the boat trip on Ihema Lake, the biggest lake in Akagera National Park.
Day 1 Kigali – Akagera National Park
After breakfast, you will ride in a safari vehicle and travel to the eastern side of Rwanda to enter the Akagera Wildlife National Park. This park has a corridor that connects to Tanzania and the park receives some of the wildlife that come for the savannah. Before you reach the park you will have lunch, then enjoy a game drive to spot wildlife species like elephant, buffalo, water and bushbuck, and warthog among others. Later in the evening you will check-in at Akagera Game Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2 Akagera National park
After breakfast you will embark on a game drive to spot wildlife species including lion, elephant, water and bushbuck, warthog, oribi, zebra and more. You will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will go on a boat cruise along Lake Ihema. On this cruise you can expect to spot a variety of wildlife and birds. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3 Akagera National Park – Kigali
After breakfast, you will check-out and embark a safari vehicle for your journey back to Kigali. This is where your safari will end.
