Arrival & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You are expected to arrive the night before your 3-day Ultimate Gorilla Safari and Lake Bunyonyi activity, or alternatively, in the early morning. Upon your arrival, our guide will greet you and transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Then, you will enjoy a day of trekking to encounter gorillas firsthand. Afterward, you can relax at Lake Bunyonyi, known as the “place of little birds.” It is widely regarded as the most beautiful lake in Uganda, making it the perfect place for you to unwind after an exciting day.
Day 1: Departure to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your journey will begin when a Yaneta Safaris driver/guide picks you up. You will travel southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, you will cross the Equator and stop in Mbarara for lunch. Afterward, you will continue your drive through the savannah grasslands. As you travel through the scenic Kigezi Highlands, you will enjoy breathtaking views. Upon arrival at Bwindi, you will check in at your lodge. Afterward, you will have time to relax and prepare for the gorilla trek the next day. You will enjoy dinner and spend the night at the lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, your ranger guide will brief you on the trekking adventure. Then, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your trek. The forest will be dense, and the terrain will be steep, but animal trails will help you access the area. The time spent trekking will depend on the movements of the gorillas. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will be allowed one hour for observation. Spending time with these gentle giants will undoubtedly be a rare and unforgettable experience.
After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch. Then, you will check out, and we will transfer you to Lake Bunyonyi. Surrounded by lush hills, Lake Bunyonyi is known for its 29 islands. The peaceful setting will allow you to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Kampala
You will enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, you may choose to swim in the lake, as it is bilharzia- and hippo-free. Then, you will begin your return journey to Entebbe. The drive will include stops in Mbarara for lunch and at the Uganda Equator line mark in Kayabwe for photos and souvenirs.
Your journey will continue, and you will arrive in the late afternoon or evening. Upon arrival, we will drop you off at Entebbe Airport or your accommodation. For outbound flights, we recommend scheduling a late afternoon or evening departure.
