This 4-day wildlife safari and chimpanzee tracking is one of our short game safaris with a boat cruise and chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu Forest. This experience in Uganda, which is to be had in the Famous Queen Elizabeth National park in western Uganda, has a wide variety of animal species and birds, and you can’t miss spotting the Big Five while in this park. This is a good trip for you if you are spending a few days in Uganda.
Day 1 Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park Via The Equator
Today, you will be picked up by our guide at 7:00 am from Entebbe/Kampala and you embark on your journey to the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Park covers an area of about 1978 square kilometers and its position provides a magnificent view of the rift valley floor that occupies Lake Edward and George. The park has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any national park in the world as it’s known to be the habitat of about 95 species of mammals along with 612 species of birds. On your way, you will have a stopover at the equator for a water experience and lunch, then proceed with your journey and retire at the lodge for overnight. The journey today takes about 7-8 hours
Day 2 Game drive & Boat Cruise in the afternoon at Kazinga Channel
After an early breakfast, you will go for a long morning game drive at 6.30 a.m., in time to see the sunrise. You will search for all the wildlife in the park; elephant, buffalo, lion, waterbuck, leopard, Uganda kob, warthog, among others. After lunch, You will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, and here you will see more hippos than you could imagine, as well as a variety of other animals that come to the waterhole to drink or bathe. Here, you can expect to see: buffalo, crocodile, bathing elephants, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour. After the boat-safari, you’ll have a game drive on your way back to the lodge.
Day 3 Chimp tracking in the Kyambura Gorge and afternoon explosion crater drive
After breakfast, you proceed for the Chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge. The Gorge is home to habituated Chimpanzees plus other primates including baboons, colobus monkeys, and also many bird species. Today, you will spend the early part of the day tracking chimpanzees here.
Thereafter, return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will go out on the explosion crater drive. The drive is basically sightseeing with a very spectacular view of the breathtaking scenery in and around Queen Elizabeth Park. There is also plenty of wildlife to see along the drive, although most common are sights of cape buffaloes and elephants. Return to the accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 4 Exit Queen and return to catch your flight out at Entebbe airport
Have a relaxed breakfast and thereafter start your journey back to your booked accommodation in the city or to Entebbe Airport. Expect en-route lunch and arrive in the late afternoon/evening for drop off. We hope to see you again, thanks for choosing Yaneta Safaris!
