OVERVIEW
This 3-day Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest National Park, known as the Primate Capital, is truly magical. You’ll enjoy activities like Chimpanzee tracking, Chimpanzee Habituation, swamp walks, hikes, and biking. During the tour, you’ll also see the 13 species of primates in the park, along with village and swamp walks around the area.
Day 1 Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
You will begin your drive to western Uganda, passing through lush green scenery and tea plantations. After lunch, take a walk through the market and interact with the locals. Next, enjoy a one-hour drive to Kibale Forest. Along the way, you can spot monkeys, birds, and baboons during the stopovers. Depending on your budget, you’ll stay at one of the suggested accommodations. The journey will take around 6-7 hours.

Day 2 Chimpanzee tracking
Start your day with breakfast at the lodge, then prepare for your Chimpanzee walk. Kibale Forest National Park is home to around 13 primate species. During your visit, you’ll spot various monkeys, including the Red Columbus, Grey-cheeked Manga bay, Black-and-white Columbus, L’hoest monkey, and of course, chimpanzees.
You’ll have the chance to spend one hour with these amazing creatures on a 3-4 hour walk through the tropical rainforest with an experienced guide. After lunch, visit Bigodi Swamp for a walk to observe monkeys and bird species. The walk takes you through grasslands, small communities, and coffee plantations, where locals eagerly greet visitors.

Day 3 Drive Back to Kampala / Entebbe
After breakfast, you will drive to Kampala for a city tour. First, you’ll visit the crafts markets and explore the Kampala taxi park, where hundreds of commuter taxis are parked. You will then be guided to climb nearby buildings for an aerial view of this busy park. Alternatively, you can visit Kampala’s largest mosque, sponsored by the late Muammar Gaddafi, the former president of Libya. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a restaurant of your choice in Kampala. Finally, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation or the airport for your flight. The journey from Kibale takes 5-6 hours.
