Queen Elizabeth National Park is a habitat to over 95 mammal species and 600 bird species. The park is also a habitat to the noteworthy tree-climbing lions.

Day 1Travel to Kibale National Park – explore Magombe swamp
This primate – wildlife safari begins at Kibale National Park. Once you arrive at the park, you will visit Magombe swamp, a habitat to eight primate species including; the black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, olive baboons, L’hoest’s, red-tailed and blue monkeys.
Day 2Chimpanzee trekking excursion – nature walk in Bigodi Wetland sanctuary
The day’s highlight will be a chimpanzee trekking excursion in Kibale forest. You will encounter a habituated chimp family and spend an hour observing its members. A habituation experience is available for anyone desiring to spend the entire day watching the chimpanzees. You will later visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary to encounter other primate species in the park.
Day 3Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – boat cruise on Kazinga channel
You will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the morning. When you arrive at the park, you will go for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. While on it, you will spot pods of hippos, crocodiles and buffaloes basking in the sun along the water banks. You will crown the day with a guided birding excursion.
Day 4Chimp trekking excursion – game drive in Ishasha region
The day will begin with a chimpanzee trekking excursion in Kyambura gorge. Other primate species including; olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys can also be seen in the gorge. Later in the day, you will embark on a game drive in Ishasha region where you will encounter the tree-climbing lions and other wildlife.
Day 5Explore the Katwe crater lakes region – return to Kampala – end of safari
Your final excursion will be a visit to the Katwe crater region – a mass of lakes formed as a result of volcanic explosions. After the adventure, you will embark on your return drive to Kampala.
