Schedule Details
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Arrive in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital. Our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your accommodation. Spend the day exploring Kigali. Visit local markets and the Caplaki Craft Co-operative, where you’ll find handicrafts, jewelry, paintings, and more.

Day 2: Kigali to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After breakfast, drive to Nyungwe National Park in the southwest. The journey offers beautiful scenery. Check into your accommodation and relax. Nyungwe is home to chimpanzees, monkeys, birds, and butterflies.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking
Today, embark on a guided hike in Nyungwe National Park. Search for chimpanzees in the forest. The trek can be challenging, as the chimps move quickly through the trees. Also, cross the Canopy Walkway, suspended 50 meters above the forest floor. The walkway offers stunning views and great wildlife spotting opportunities.

Day 4: Nyungwe Forest National Park to Lake Kivu
Depart Nyungwe and head to Lake Kivu. Relax on the sandy beaches or kayak on the calm waters. Take a boat tour to nearby islands or visit coffee and banana plantations. Hike the surrounding hills or visit Imbabazi Orphanage.

Day 5: Lake Kivu to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, drive to Volcanoes National Park. The journey takes about four hours. Upon arrival, receive a briefing on your gorilla trek. The rest of the day is free to relax and prepare for tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking
After an early breakfast, travel to Kinigi at the base of the Virunga Mountains. Begin your trek to find your assigned gorilla family. The trek may take anywhere from 30 minutes to eight hours. When you find the gorillas, observe them quietly for one hour. Afterward, return to your hotel to reflect on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day 7: Return to Kigali & Departure
Drive back to Kigali. Visit the Genocide Memorial and Education Centre, a tribute to the victims of the 1994 genocide. Afterward, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
